The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas
The darkness had grasped the city. The clock ticked 1 A.M..
I was witness to the dark beauty of this sinful night.
In the shadows and in the low lights was poverty hidden behind brushes of lipstick and eye liner.
MG Road Bangalore.
The glitters of the malls, fade out before midnight, the street lights keeps staring at the empty roads.
The only thing open is a bunch of cursed human, who has themselves in offer, and nothing else to fight their curse of poverty.
The highway man comes riding riding riding.
But there isn't any landlord's black eyed daughter
The dark red knot isn't of any love.
Yet there waits a Bess
The highway man whistles a tune to the darkness.. and out comes poverty hidden behind shades of cheap colours.
"One kiss o my bonny sweet heart, and you shall get your prize for tonight." says the highway man.
With eyes of hollow madness and hairs like mouldy hay appears from the corner a person who has come to sell another.
A whisper and the man counts the notes. He has earned his living for the night.
Off they go breaking the silence. Tlot Tlot Tlot Tlot breaks the frosty silence and off they go.
I remain a dumb witness to this and say to myself:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
I regret knowing those lines of Rudyard. I wish i knew not, how to run. I would have stopped a sin.
Touching! I always knew Bangalore was a happening place:)
